Eligibility for Santa Cruz Metro Paratransit Services

Eligibility is reserved for individuals who, because of their disability, cannot independently board, ride, or disembark from any accessible vehicle. Individuals with impairment-related conditions that prevent them from getting to or from a boarding or disembarking location are also eligible.

To request an eligibility assessment, contact the Metro ParaCruz Eligibility Assessment office at 831-425-4664. You will be offered an appointment within seven days of your call. After your assessment, you will be notified of your eligibility determination within seven days. Visitors who have been certified by another transit system as ADA certified are eligible for 21 days of service per 365 day period.

Would you like to get involved in creating local transportation policy for people with special needs?

The Elderly and Disabled Transportation Advisory Committee assesses and advocates for transportation needs of the elderly and disabled, and facilitates communication between public and private agencies, users and providers. The committee meets the second Tuesday of even-numbered months at 1:30 pm. They also publish an excellent comprehensive guide to transportation services for elderly and disabled people in Santa Cruz County.
