The Rehabilitation R&D Center is dedicated
to developing innovative clinical treatments and assistive devices for veterans
of all ages with physical disabilities in order to increase their independence
and improve their quality of life.
The Western Blind Rehabilitation Center
provides orientation and mobility training for up to 120 visually impaired patients
a year. The Spinal Cord Injury Center (located in Building 7) provides acute treatment
and rehabilitation, as well as long-term follow up, for spinal cord injured veterans.
Open to most veterans; call for more details on eligibility status. Depending
on status, costs range from free to insurance/co-payment based.
